Day Camp
Located on 1.7 miles of pristine Lake Wylie shoreline in South Carolina, YMCA Camp Thunderbird’s day camp for boys and girls (ages 6+) provides ideal backdrop for discovering new things, creating new friendships and memories. Our beautiful 100-acre facility boasts a high ropes course, zip line, alpine tower, two swimming pools and over 20 Sunfish sailboats.

Skill Building: Bandana Reward System
All of our activities are "challenge by choice"—designed to meet campers where they are and encourage safe, supported growth. Each activity also includes a skill progression track, where campers can earn points for engaging and accomplishing new skills. These points contribute to our Bandana Reward System, a beloved camp tradition that celebrates both skill achievements and personal growth milestones and is cumulative year over year.

American Camp Association accreditation standards focus on health, safety, and risk management, and provides public evidence of a camp’s commitment to the well-being of campers and staff.
