Wellness
Programs that promote well-being, reduce risk for disease and help you reclaim your health.
LiveSTRONG® at the YMCA
Designed to help adult cancer survivors achieve their holistic health goals, LiveSTRONG® at the YMCA offers a safe, supportive environment focused on strengthening the whole person. Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance and improve confidence and self-esteem.
In additional to physical benefits, LiveSTRONG® at the YMCA focuses on the emotional well-being of survivors and their families by providing a supportive community where people impacted by cancer can connect during treatment and beyond. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LiveSTRONG® at the YMCA helps people holistically move beyond cancer. YMCA membership is not required to participate in this program.
Empower
The YMCA’s EMPOWER is program designed for adults 18 years and older who desire a healthier weight. By tracking your personal activity, goals and outcomes, you become more aware of how nutrition and exercise affects your health.
EMPOWER takes place in a supportive, small group setting with a facilitator who will help you sustain healthy habits. The program involves:
- A 12-week weight loss program that meets once a week for an hour
- Strategies for setting goals, improving sleep, handling stress, making better nutrition choices and more
- Ongoing assessments of your progress
YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program

This year-long program consists of 25 sessions. The goals of this program include:
- Reducing body weight by 7%
- Increasing physical activity by 150 minutes per week
