Mental Health Awareness

For 150 years, the YMCA has been dedicated to implementing Christian principles through programs that promote a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

We understand the significant impact exercise has on mental health, and we're excited to introduce new resources to help you better understand the benefits of improving mental well-being.

In partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Charlotte, the YMCA of Greater Charlotte is committed to fostering mental wellness in our community. As part of this collaboration, we offer a range of free NAMI support groups, mental health classes, and engaging presentations. These programs provide vital resources and a supportive environment for individuals and families to connect, learn, and grow.

Join us in our mission to build a healthier, more inclusive community where mental health is prioritized.  We invite you to join our Mental Health Awareness Challenge, explore breathing exercises, and try mindfulness tools as part of our ongoing commitment to mental wellness. Always remember, you are not alone—you are here for a reason, and you have a purpose!
