More than 15,000 people are expected to gather at the Lowe’s YMCA in Mooresville on Wednesday, July 3 for its annual YMCA Summer Celebration. The event is the largest Independence Day celebration in the Lake Norman area and raises funds to support the Y’s community efforts such as childhood literacy, drowning prevention and ensuring access to health and wellness opportunities for families and children in need.
The event is made possible by presenting sponsors Randy Marion and Town of Mooresville and supporting sponsors Academy Sports, Mooresville Animal Hospital and Chili’s. The 12th annual event provides an evening of fun, food, music and games with an enormous fireworks show that as drawn big crowds every year. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to get a good view of the show. For the safety of guests, grills, pets, sparklers and outside fireworks are not permitted.

*Event attendees will need a wristband to access the Kids Zone. Wristbands can be purchased for $2 prior to the event at the Lowe’s YMCA front desk, or cash-only at the Kids Zone entrance at the event.
