150TH ANNIVERSARY SCAVENGER HUNT

Prize

The winner will receive a one (1)-year (12 consecutive months) free membership at the YMCA of Greater Charlotte that will include up to two adults (18 years or older) and two children (17 years or younger) at the time of prize redemption. The approximate value of the prize is $1,656. Actual/appraised value may differ at the time of prize award. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte (the “Sponsor”). Additional adults or children covered by the membership will be subject to standard membership fees.

No cash or other prize substitution permitted except at the Sponsor’s discretion. The prize is nontransferable. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. At the end of the 12 months, the membership will automatically revert to a paid membership reflecting current membership rates at that time.

How to enter

1. Post selfies from the designated locations listed below using #YOGC150 on Facebook or Instagram and tag @YMCAofGreaterCharlotte (Facebook) or @ymcacharlotte (Instagram) and give us a follow by October 31st.

2. The entry must fulfill all sweepstakes requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize. Entries that are not complete or do not adhere to the Rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Entrants may not enter more than once using the same or multiple Facebook profiles, identities or devices, mailed Entries, or other method in an attempt to circumvent the Rules. If fraudulent methods or other attempts to circumvent the Rules are used, Entrant’s submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.  Additionally, submissions that are deemed to be profane, vulgar, disrespectful, or otherwise unacceptable, may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.

3. Sponsor may require proof of accuracy of submitted entry information. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, stolen, incomplete, illegible, inaccurate, undelivered, delayed, or misdirected entries.

Sweepstakes timeline

Entries will be accepted starting on or about 10/1/24 and end on 10/31/24 at 11:59 pm. All entries must be received or postmarked by 10/31/24 - 11:59pm to qualify.

Eligibility

Sweepstakes is open to all residents of the United States who are eighteen (18) years of age or older as of the date of entry who submit an accurate and complete entry within the Sweepstakes Timeline (the “Entrant”). Current or previous members of the Sponsor must have an account in good standing. Current or previous members with balances due, suspensions, bans or other adverse conditions must have those conditions resolved and be returned to good standing in order to be eligible.

Officers, directors, managers, and employees of the Sponsor, and each of its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and related companies and their respective advertising and promotion agencies, consultants and agents, as well as immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each such person, and any others engaged in the development, production, execution or distribution of this Sweepstakes are not eligible to participate.

Agreement to rules

By participating, Entrants agree to be fully and unconditionally bound by these Rules, and you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements set forth herein. In addition, you agree to accept the decisions of the Sponsor as final and binding as it relates to the content. The sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

Winner selection and notification

The Sweepstakes winner (“Winner”) will be selected in a random drawing. If Entrants submitted an entry through Facebook, they will be contacted through the Facebook profile used to enter Sweepstakes. If Entrant submitted an entry through a mailed letter, they will be contacted through phone number or email address provided. The Winner will be selected no later than 11/8/24 at 6:00pm Eastern U.S. time and contacted no later than 11/29/24. 

Two (2) attempts to contact the Winner will be made. If the Winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the Prize within 14 days of second notification attempt, the YMCA reserves the right to withdraw the Prize from the Winner and pick a replacement Winner. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for the Sweepstakes.

The receipt by the winner of the prize offered in this sweepstakes is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal and state laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY ANY WINNER (AT THE SPONSOR’S DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN SUCH WINNER'S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE SWEEPSTAKES AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.

Prize Redemption

Prize must be redeemed within 60 days after first contact with the Winner. Once the prize is redeemed and the Winner’s account activated, the Winner’s account must remain in good standing for 12 consecutive months. Any disruption of Winner’s active member status during redemption of the prize (e.g. account cancellation, termination, hold, freeze, ban, or suspension) may void the remainder of the prize at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. The Sponsor will notify the Winner about how to redeem the Prize.  Prize redemption will include a standard application and review process to join the Sponsor, which may include, but is not limited to, a background check and review of account history.  If that process is not completed satisfactorily per the guidelines of the Sponsor, then the Prize will be voided.

Acceptance of Prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use Winner’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

Conditions

By entering this Sweepstakes, Entrants agree to be bound by these Rules, the decisions of the Sponsor, and that they meet eligibility requirements.  The Sponsor’s decisions in respect to all matters to do with the Sweepstakes will be final, not subject to appeal, and no correspondence will be entered into.  The Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes or the Rules.  Sponsor is not responsible for inaccurate Prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this Sweepstakes.  This Sweepstakes is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook/Meta or other Social Network.  Failure to comply with these Rules may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.  The Sweepstakes and Rules will be governed by United States law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.  Void where prohibited.

No Liability

By participating, Entrants and Winner(s) agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from and against any claims made by any Entrant, Winner, or any other third parties, related in any way to the operation of this Sweepstakes as well as any other claims, damages or liability due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from receipt, acceptance, possession, misuse or use of a Prize or participation in any promotion related activity or participation in this Sweepstakes.

Use of data

The Sponsor will be collecting personal data about Entrants online in accordance with its privacy policy. By participating in the Sweepstakes, Entrants hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted the Sponsor’s privacy policy.  In addition, Entrants provide consent to receive sales and marketing emails from the Sponsor.  Further, Entrants and Winner agree to grant permission to Sponsor to use the Entrant’s name and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
