Join us for our free Book Club, where community and conversation come together! In relaxed sessions, our club welcomes everyone, whether you've read the book or not. Each month, we’ll dive into a new book selected by the group, with a potluck themed around the month’s title. It’s a casual, community-centered space to spark meaningful discussions and connect with others over good books and good food. Feel free to come and go as your schedule allows - there’s always room for lively conversation and new connections. Don’t miss out on the fun! The Winter Session meets 1/14, 2/18, and 3/18. Join Jax Hendrickson for an empowering Igneus Self-Defense Workshop! This workshop focuses on building awareness, using your voice, and mastering essential self-defense techniques. You'll learn to trust your intuition in high-stress situations and gain the tools to navigate threats, harassment, and more. Through creative problem-solving and scenario-based learning, you'll develop practical skills that go beyond the mat and apply to your everyday life. Let's come together to become stronger, more confident, and more connected. This workshop is open to women ages 16 and older.

You’ll love this fanciful and heartwarming stage adaptation of the celebrated animated film. Join Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven, and all your favorite characters as they embark on an epic, ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie, and the real meaning of true love. Adapted for young performers, this musical includes favorite Frozen songs such as “Love Is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and “Let It Go,” as well as wonderful new songs from the Broadway production. This production of Frozen KIDS is sure to prove that “some people are worth melting for.” The Ballantyne Arts Center provides production opportunities throughout the year for youth interested in performance. The rehearsal process utilizes an educational approach, providing theatrical training and direct application in a fun yet challenging environment. Professional directors, stage managers, and theatrical design teams support these quality productions featuring young performers.

Is someone you know a child interested in becoming a babysitter? Our Safe Sitter certification course will teach them all they need to know about taking care of little ones, entrepreneurship, basic first aid and so much more. Sitters ages 11-15 will gain confidence and leave with an official certification worth bragging about! Girl Scouts can earn their babysitting badge through the YMCA Safe Sitter program, as well. Safe Sitter certification classes are held at the Morrison Family YMCA branch. All classes include a one hour Volunteer Orientation so participants are ready to start building their resume by volunteering at the Y in one of our child care programs.

A young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin, which contains precious, otherworldly cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training who realizes that the trunk’s precious cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates – led by the fearsome Black Stache, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own – the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure. Our Kids' Night Out program is a great way for your little one to enjoy a night at the Y so that you can run errands, enjoy an evening out, or just plain RELAX! While you take your time, your child will have the chance to socialize with a small group of others and get used to being away from parents for a few hours. During their time, children will play games, enjoy story time, get crafty, and spend time outside and being active. Pizza, snacks, and juice will be provided.
