LIVESTRONG™ at the YMCA is made possible through a grant provided by The Lance Armstrong Foundation. The grant gives the Lowe’s YMCA the opportunity to create a program designed for adult cancer survivors who have completed treatment and want to recommit to living their lives to the fullest.

There are nearly 12 million cancer survivors in the United States today. The Lance Armstrong Foundation and the YMCA of Greater Charlotte are committed to enhancing the quality of life for cancer survivors through a commitment to exercise.

The Program
LIVESTRONG™ at the YMCA is an ongoing 8-week program that includes an exercise routine, a support group, an initial consultation and post-program testing. The program meets three times per week – twice for exercise and once for support. The program is free to participants. All training facilities, equipment and certified instructors are provided by the Lowe’s YMCA.

Mondays and Wednesdays
45 Minutes of Cardiovascular Exercise
45 Minutes of Stretch and Relaxation
Fridays
60 Minutes of Goal Setting and Discussion
Class sizes are limited.
Registration is required.
Eligibility
If you are a cancer survivor and have a personal desire to commit to a full, healthy life then this program is for you. We ask that you give permission for a YMCA Fitness Trainer to call your physician if necessary. We also ask that you complete a health questionnaire, record your fitness activity and personally commit to coming to each class.
